Pricing

Philterd Data Services uses a transparent, "pay-as-you-go" pricing model. This approach ensures that you only pay for the resources you actually consume, combined with a predictable base fee that supports the platform's infrastructure and premium features.

At the beginning of each month, you will be invoiced for your usage during the preceding month, plus the flat monthly subscription fee for the period.

If you have specific questions regarding our pricing, please contact our sales and support team.

Pricing Overview

Philterd Data Services' pricing model is based on a monthly subscription fee and usage fees for specific operations. The monthly subscription fee covers data storage, bandwidth, and platform infrastructure support. The usage fees are charged for each operation performed, such as redactions, token processing, and risk assessments.

Why do we have a monthly subscription fee? A fair question. Our goal is to optimize pricing as much as we can. We believe that a monthly subscription fee provides a predictable and consistent base fee that supports the platform's infrastructure and premium features while still allowing you to scale up or down as needed. Simply charging a large monthly fee would be unfair to customers who are only using the platform for a short period of time.

Usage-based Pricing Metrics

When you submit text or documents to our platform, the system analyzes the content by breaking it down into fundamental units called tokens.

In most cases, a token corresponds to an individual word. However, our advanced Natural Language Processing (NLP) engine sometimes identifies multi-word entities (like "New York" or "Social Security Number") as a single logical token.

Philterd Data Services'usage-based pricing is calculated based on the usage-metrics described below:

Document Redactions

1. Token Counts

For budgeting purposes, you can generally estimate token counts based on the total word count of your documents.

2. Redactions

A redaction is each individual instance where a piece of sensitive information (PII or PHI) is identified and subsequently modified according to a policy.

This applies regardless of the specific redaction method used—whether the information is blacked out (anonymized), masked, encrypted, or replaced by some other method.

Risk Assessments

A Risk Assessment is a specialized operation that analyzes a document's sensitive data profile without performing redaction. A PDF report is generated that provides a detailed breakdown of the document's sensitive content.

Panorama

Panorama analyses are billed per token. Each token is billed at $0.007 per token.

Detailed Pricing Breakdown

Below is the specific cost associated with each of our pricing metrics:

Metric Unit Cost Description
Panorama $0.007 per token Charged for each token processed during a Panorama analysis.
Redactions $0.001 per redaction Charged for each individual sensitive entity identified and modified.
Token Counts $0.00149 per token Charged for each token (roughly one word) processed during redaction.
Risk Assessments $0.49 per assessment Charged for each document risk analysis performed.
API Calls $0.10 per 1,000 with first 1,000 API calls free API calls are charged at $0.10 after the first 1,000 API calls. No charge for API calls that are not completed successfully.
Monthly Platform Fee $49.95 per month A flat base fee covering encrypted storage, bandwidth, and platform access.

Important Pricing Notes:

  • No Charge for Failed Processing: You are only billed for successful operations. If a document cannot be processed (e.g., due to an invalid file format or a corrupted dataset), no usage fees will be applied for that specific file.
  • Minimum Monthly Cost: The minimum monthly cost for an active Philterd Data Services account is $49.95 (the platform fee).

Pricing Examples

To help you better understand how these metrics translate into a monthly invoice, consider the following scenarios:

Example 1: Active Usage Scenario

In this scenario, a user processes several documents, resulting in the following monthly usage:

  • Redactions: 200 instances identified and masked (200 * $0.001 = $0.20)
  • Tokens: A total of 1,500 tokens processed across all files (1,500 * $0.00149 = $2.235)
  • Risk Assessments: 20 documents analyzed for risk (20 * $0.49 = $9.80)
  • Monthly Base Fee: Standard subscription fee ($49.95)

Total Monthly Invoice: $0.20 + $2.235 + $9.80 + $49.95 = $52.19

Example 2: Low Usage / Idle Scenario

In this scenario, a user maintains an active account but does not perform any redaction or risk assessment operations during the month:

  • Redactions: 0 instances (0 * $0.001 = $0.00)
  • Tokens: 0 tokens (0 * $0.00149 = $0.00)
  • Risk Assessments: 0 assessments (0 * $0.49 = $0.00)
  • Monthly Base Fee: Standard subscription fee ($49.95)

Total Monthly Invoice: $0.00 + $0.00 + $0.00 + $49.95 = $49.95
