Monitoring Your Platform Usage

Philterd Data Services provides comprehensive tools for monitoring your platform activity and resource consumption. The Usage page is your primary resource for understanding how much data you are processing, which is essential for both operational oversight and financial planning.

To access your usage data, navigate to the Account menu in the sidebar and select Usage.

Usage Visualization

The Usage page features interactive charts that provide a visual representation of your platform activity over the most recent 30-day period. These visualizations help you identify trends, peak usage times, and the overall volume of sensitive data management.

The usage charts update continuously, but is not real-time.

  • Redaction Metrics Chart: This chart tracks the total number of individual redactions performed across all your documents. It provides insight into the concentration of sensitive information within your datasets.
  • Token Consumption Chart: This chart displays the total volume of data (measured in tokens) processed by our engine. Since our pricing model is partly based on token counts, this visualization is a direct indicator of your upcoming usage-based costs.

Historical Usage Data and Reporting

While the dashboard provides an immediate 30-day view, we recognize that many organizations require long-term usage records for auditing, internal chargebacks, or compliance reporting.

CSV Data Exports

For analysis of usage data beyond the 30-day window, Philterd allows you to download detailed usage reports in CSV (Comma-Separated Values) format. These reports provide a line-by-line accounting of every processing task, including:

  • Date and Timestamp: When the processing occurred.
  • Metric Type: Whether the entry refers to a Redaction, a Token, or a Risk Assessment.
  • Quantity: The specific count for that metric.
  • Associated Metadata: Information such as the Document ID and Context (where applicable).

Using Usage Data for Cost Management

The data presented on the Usage page is the exact data used by our billing system to generate your monthly invoice. By regularly monitoring your usage, you can:

  • Forecast Costs: Predict your end-of-month invoice based on current consumption rates.
  • Optimize Policies: Identify if certain policies are generating an unexpectedly high volume of redactions.
  • Audit Activity: Ensure that platform usage aligns with your organization's authorized projects and workflows.
